Rock'n "C" Line Camp is 100 miles from Ahwatukee. Your trip takes you deep into the mountains North of Payson on a winding trail, fording the Verde River three different times before you get your first glimpse of Conleys' hideaway, a humble log cabin built by early settlers soon after the demise of the Anasazi.
You are now in Central Arizona's "Rim Country", a four season Garden of Eden that is well off the beaten path. Completely surrounded by majestic Ponderosa Pines, and dotted with Oaks, Maple and Juniper, serene Whispering Pines exists far removed from the glitter of metropolitan Phoenix.
Currently, the property is being restored to its original state. This restoration is the latest in a long list of projects addressed by Conley and Hazel during the past seven years. (As you are aware, Hazel has always felt that Conley is happiest when he has a project to work on. This should keep him happy until May 2010.)
Upon completion of the restoration project, it would be our pleasure to have you visit.. (This is not to say you wouldn't be welcome if you happen to drop by during the restoration process.)
Scattered throughout the area are numerous lakes, streams, trails, Indian ruins and lookout points affording you a Kodak moment you won't find during your everyday travels at home. Just ten miles west as the crow flies, is the Tonto Natural Bridge. One billion, seven hundred million years in the making, this 183 foot high marvel spans the crystal clear waters of Pine Creek. In addition, the area teems with deer, elk, bear, squirrels, turkey, eagles, yorkies and other creatures of nature.
The weather is delightful, generally 15 to 30 degrees cooler than Phoenix with possible snow in the winter. You'll find the air in this area is as pure as any found anywhere on the planet. Come on up!!
Wear comfortable shoes, sweaters for cool evenings by the fire pit and snuggies for the colder fall and winter months. Make your reservations early, dates are filling up fast. Once you visit Rock'n "C" Line Camp, we know you will return.
